Since his debut as Renato (Un ballo in maschera) with Luciano Pavarotti for the Opera Company of Philadelphia, American baritone Mark Rucker has been in demand in opera houses and on concert stages throughout the world. Mr. Rucker made his Met debut as Amonasro (Aïda) and has since been heard there as Don Carlo (La forza del destino), Tonio (Pagliacci), and as Rigoletto for the Met in the Parks. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in La forza del destino opposite Maria Guleghina and the late Salvatore Licitra. Mr. Rucker is in demand throughout North America as an interpreter of Verdi, with appearances at New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Florentine Opera, San Diego Opera and many more, including frequent New Orleans performances. He also performs regularly as a guest soloist for symphony orchestras, with a concert repertoire featuring Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Noah in Britten’s Noye’s Fludde, Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem, and Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ.
