Applications are open for the Spring/Summer Donald W. Wood, Sr. Operatic Advancement Grant (W.O.A.G.)!

This unique grant is specifically for those pursuing a vocal performance degree and can be used for application fees, school fees, summer/young artist programs, and other expenses. These may include (but are not limited to) travel and related expenses for auditions, coaching, out-of-town studies, performances, college/post-college expenses, meals, or any expenses related to pursuing a degree or career in opera performance. The deadline is April 8, 2024, at 11:59 PM.

New Orleans Opera would like to encourage all past winners, those that placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or honorable mention, to apply! We are committed to helping our past winners pursue their operatic dreams, and we hope the W.O.A.G. will help you do just that.

Congratulations to Laurin Hart winner of our NOLA52 raffle! Her name was drawn during the intermission of Sunday’s matinee performance of Lucia di Lammermoor and now she is off to enjoy her dinners for two every week for a year!

“The scenery was impeccable; the cast, absolutely brilliant. My favorite line had to be the inquiry to Sharpless about his ancestors. Like how’s momma and dem? :)”
