Youth Vocal Competition
The New Orleans Opera Association announces its Youth Vocal Competition (a collaborative effort with Loyola University of New Orleans – College of Music and Fine Arts and Preparatory Program, Newcomb Department of Music, Tulane University and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts). Louisiana high school students have been chosen to compete Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Loyola’s Roussel Hall beginning at 1 PM. First place: $1,000 (awarded each to one male and one female) and second place: $500 (awarded each to one male and one female). Finalists will sing from standard classical literature where one selection is either in Italian, French, or German and one selection is in English. The Competition is free and open to the public.
