Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts (map)
One of Mozart’s last works, and certainly one of his greatest, this is a wondrous fairy tale for all ages – an exploration of mans strength and frailty that is profound but charming, serious and yet comic. Eventually the powers of Truth and Light conquer the forces of Superstition and Darkness, and everyone “lives happily ever after.”
THE MULTI-TALENTED FLUTIST:
Patti Adams is solo piccoloist and Assistant Principal flutist with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and award-winning member of the Louisiana Watercolor Society. For this production New Orleans Opera has proudly commissioned her to design colorful interpretations that will serve as scenic backdrops.
