Soprano Lindsey Reynolds, 2015 winner of the Donald W. Wood Sr. Vocal Competition was recently accepted into the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Young Artist Program. Last spring, more than 600 singers applied for consideration with video recordings and, after review, more than 30 were invited to Chicago for live auditions. Past Wood Competition Winners Continue to Succeed
Mezzo-soprano Julia Ernst, 2019 winner of the Wood Competition, a student at Loyola University New Orleans, and a native of Mandeville, LA, placed first in the Midwest Semifinals of the Music International Grand Prix Competition. The Music International Grand Prix Competition is a new international competition for musicians of all ages from all over the world: Asia, Europe, Australia, Canada, and the US. Olivia Gray, 2017 winner of the Wood Competition, was also a semi-finalist in the Midwest division of the Music International Grand Prix Competition. She is currently attending Mannes School of Music in New York, NY.
