New Orleans, LA – The New Orleans Opera Association (NOOA) is proud to participate in the annual GiveNOLA Day event on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Hosted by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, GiveNOLA Day is a 24-hour giving period where community members are inspired to give generously to nonprofits across New Orleans. Funds donated to the NOOA will expand and improve its educational and outreach programs which include free access for school-age children to Student Preview Performances, in-school programs that introduce children and teens to musical theater, and more. NOOA will host two free events at the New Orleans Opera Guild Home to raise funds for its artistic and educational programming. The first event is a free coffee social with members and staff of the opera. From 7:30 AM to 9 AM, supporters are invited to kickstart their morning with a free iced coffee (while supplies last) sponsored by French Market Coffee and a chance to win tickets with a donation. From 4:30 PM to 6 PM, the party keeps going with Opera on the Porch. Opera members will be present to socialize and perform operatic selections every 15 minutes. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair and beverages. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
